Bleaching hair

To discoloration of hair is often resorted to in cases where it is necessary to make the vegetation on the face and body unnoticeable. With the help of the bleaching solution, you can also lighten the dark hair on your head, in order to paint them in a fashionable light shade.

As a rule, hydrogen peroxide with a concentration in the solution of no more than 3% is used to discolor hair on the head, since a higher content of peroxide may lead to the death of hair. When the hair is discolored on the face and body, the content of hydrogen peroxide in the solution is allowed up to 10%.

The process of discoloration of hair occurs under the influence of oxygen, which is released under the influence of heat. Also, the rapid release of oxygen occurs under the influence of alkalis, which loosens well the substance of the hair, as a result of which oxygen quickly penetrates into the cells that make up the hair shaft, in which the pigment is incorporated. The most common for these purposes is ammonia, which strengthens the destructive effect of hydrogen peroxide.

The use of solutions for hair discoloration is not always effective, because, draining over the head, it acts mainly on the tips of the hair, causing them to lighten, while the hair at the roots practically does not discolour. Therefore, it is best to use home-made bleaching creams or hair dyes selected to make you discolor your natural hair color.

The composition of home bleaching cream includes hydrogen peroxide and ammonia. To make it, you need to put 1 tablespoon of bleaching powder into the bottle and add 0.5 tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide and 2-4 drops of ammonia, then mix it with a long brush and close the bottle with a cork.

Paint for hair can be bought in specialized stores, which sell hair care products and hairdressing supplies.

Discoloration of hair in the home should be done with caution, as a sloppy procedure can lead to complications. Therefore, it is necessary to strictly observe the proportions of all whitening ingredients, the concentration of which must be strictly individual, taking into account the type of skin and hair color. Otherwise, you can cause hair loss and even scalp burns. Proceeding from this, it is desirable for the first time to perform this procedure in the salon of an experienced cosmetologist and further, having mastered this technique well, it is possible to perform the procedure at home.

In any case, before starting the procedure for bleaching the hair, you need to apply a bleaching composition to the sensitive area of the scalp at the back of the head. In the case of mild irritation, it is not worth worrying, but if there is severe burning, then the procedure is carried out with this discoloring agent.

How to bleach hair at home

When carrying out hair bleaching at home, the following procedure should be followed:

1. Close your shoulders with a towel, a polyethylene wrap and a napkin. To avoid irritation of the skin with hydrogen peroxide, lubricate the skin at the border of hair growth on the forehead, temples and neck with vaseline or any fat cream.

2. Quickly prepare a discoloring mixture, as it does not retain its properties for a short time.

3. It is good to comb the hair, dividing the hair of the head into zones with an arcuate parting from one ear to the other through the crown, with a horizontal parting through the occipital part and a vertical parting from the middle of the forehead to the middle of the neck.

4. For the purpose of uniform coloring, quickly apply the composition to the hair with a cotton swab or a flat brush starting from the occipital part of the head. When the hair is discolored for the first time the composition is applied to them, deviating from the roots by 2-3 cm. When the color is again discolored, the coloring composition for color equalization is first applied to the overgrown hair at the roots. Such features are due to the fact that as a result of the heat released by the skin of the head, hair roots are more quickly colored and only then their middle part and tips.

5. After dyeing the hair in the occipital part of the head, you need to go to the temporal parietal part. The procedure is as follows: first the composition is applied to a strand of hair on the top of the head at the intersection of the two cuts, the next strand is separated by a parallel parting and processed by the composition in a similar way and so on to the line of the border of the hair covering of the temporal parietal part of the head. At the same time, soft hair-down at the temples and on the neck is not immediately colored, as they are more delicate and can turn out lighter than others.

6. After finishing all the hair on the head, they need to be combed well, combing to the top of the head.

7. After 5-10 minutes, when the process of discoloration begins, the hair is stained at the roots in the same sequence as described above. For uniformity of coloring, it should be made faster.

8. After 20-30 minutes, the coloring composition is washed off the scalp with the help of warm water and soap. The remains of the composition are neutralized with a solution of vinegar , prepared based on the proportion of 1 tablespoon of a 9% vinegar solution per 1 liter of water.

9. At the end of the hair bleaching procedure, they should be soaked with a towel and gently combed with a soft plastic comb to avoid damage.
