Drying hair

The secret of luxurious hair is not only a regular (at least 1-2 times a week) washing the head , but also in the proper drying of the hair after it. Despite the fact that this process takes quite a long time, few pay enough attention to it. As a result, hair is often damaged, dull and requires treatment .

There are 2 ways to dry hair - natural and mechanical (with a hair dryer). Let us dwell in more detail on each of them.

The natural way of drying hair

This is the best way to dry hair and, if possible, it should be resorted to as often as possible, because under the influence of thermal appliances hair is often overdried, which leads to a breakdown in their structure, increased brittleness and sensitivity. However, natural drying requires adhering to certain rules, without respect of which it is ineffective. They are listed below:

1. Never allow long-term drying of hair outdoors. This leads to weighting of their roots and subsequent loss.

2. After washing, gently squeeze the hair with your fingers to remove excess moisture from them.

3. Use a towel to dry the hair. It should be warm (heated on a battery or using a domestic iron).

Towel cover the hair on top and tightly wrap them.

5. If necessary, change the wet towel dry until the hair completely dries.

6. Allowed to dry hair in the open air. At the same time, quickly, but gently massage each towel-dried strand, lifting it slightly at the roots with the fingers.

7. Do not dry hair in direct sunlight. In this case, wear a hat.

8. For combing, proceed only after the hair has dried completely.

Drying hair with a hair dryer

Most often women due to an elementary lack of time resort to a method of drying and styling hair with a hairdryer. In this case, in order to maximally compensate for the possible negative impact of the thermo device on the hair, it is recommended to adhere to the following recommendations: 1) before the drying process, apply special thermal protective agents (spray or gel) to the hair, and then comb the hair, dividing them into several strands; 2) during the drying process it is better to use the cold air supply mode, directing its flow along the hair growth line - from the roots to the tips and using a special concentrator nozzle; 3) the hair dryer should be kept at a distance of 8-10 cm from the head and make uniform motion along its entire surface; 4) the drying of the strands must be carried out alternately by raising them at the roots with a round brush with natural or plastic bristles; 5) to achieve a firm and voluminous styling, the hair should be dried in the opposite direction to where they will be combed afterwards; 6) it is desirable to leave the curls at the end slightly undersized in order to avoid drying out.

When choosing a hairdryer, you should prefer the device: a) with more power (especially if you have long and thick hair); b) having several ranges of speeds and temperature modes of drying, which allows you to adjust, based on the length of your curls; c) with 2 nozzles in the kit - a concentrator that directs the air jet to each strand and diffuser, which dries the hair at the roots and gives them an extra volume when laying.

If possible, still give your locks a break from the hair dryer, periodically drying them naturally. This will protect them from dryness, fragility and premature fallout.
