Redness of the facial skin can be temporary, when the vessels expand due to excessive exposure to high or low temperatures, humidity, direct sunlight, nervous or emotional stress. As a rule, it passes quickly when the influence of these factors is eliminated.
When temporary redness of the face is recommended: 1) rinsing the face with cold water, which contributes to the rapid narrowing of the vessels; 2) compresses-alternate wetting of the skin with a hot towel (3 times) and cold (1 time); 3) taking sedatives and medicinal herbs; 4) whitening masks.
However, in the case, reddening of the facial skin is not a local temporary, but a continuous long-term character, then we can speak about the presence of serious functional disorders in the body and, in particular, a disease such as rosacea. It is accompanied by a sustained expansion of the vessels and is associated with an incorrect operation of the trigeminal nerve.
Concomitant factors to the development of rosacea are:
- chronic stress;
- improper nutrition (plenty of oily, smoked and salty foods, tea, coffee);
- smoking and abuse of alcoholic beverages;
- work associated with excessive exposure to low or high temperatures and direct sunlight;
- hormonal changes in the body;
- Violations in the work of the cardiovascular system, thyroid and gastrointestinal tract.
Be sure to contact an experienced dermatologist who, after consulting with a neurologist, endocrinologist and gastroenterologist and conducting appropriate studies to identify the causes of the disease, will prescribe a course of treatment. As a rule, it consists of the following activities:
1. Strict diet and rejection of bad habits.
2. Compliance with the regime of work and rest, psycho-emotional unloading.
3. Admission of special medicines and vitamin complexes.
4. Proper skin care: the exclusion of cosmetics containing alcohol, acetone, oils and hormones; refusal of cosmetic massage and steaming; use of cosmetics with the label "for sensitive skin", sun and frost protection creams.
5. Various physiotherapeutic procedures (for example, electrocoagulation-the burning of the enlarged vessels of the face with electric current).
